rain this morning. just be aware, we have pounding of water. 73 in town. easton at 75. you noticed everything running from west to east this morning and that will be pushing off towards our south. through the course of this morning. it's going to be muggy at 77 around the 8:00 hour a mild day today. not hot. 87 degrees around the 4:00 hour and dropping back down to 80 around 8. we will talk about the forecast in less than 10. lauren cook has a check on what do you do traffic? >> traffic. >> hi. >> your weather and i am traffic except for last week we are dealing with problems in howard county a traffic light is going to be out at the intersection of route 108 right at columbia road. and big problems on 95. we are dealing with an accident up in harford county alodge the southbound lanes at the -- along the southbound lanes. another accident southbound at o'donnell street you want to keep in mind. expect some delays on the harrisburg expressway and packed from york road down to 695. and once you get on to the beltway, here's what it looks

like on the northwest corner at old court road. traffic really picking up in this vicinity. outer loop starting to jam up. but the accident on the outer loop at the 83s has been moved to the shoulder and no langer causing -- longer causing a mess. route 295 not too much congestion at all. it will be a nice easy ride traveling towards the key bridge. that's your abc2 timesaver traffic and now back over to you. >> all right. thanks lauren. three boys found dead in a creek in maryland's eastern shore. >> authorities say they found the bodies sunday after the families searched throughout the night for them in federalsburg. sherrieionson has more on the heart breaking story. >> reporter: it's heart -- sherrie johnson has more on the heart breaking story. >> reporter: they were found dead in creek on sunday. folks gathered on the shore and watched as emergency crews recovered the bodies from a nearby creek. an 8-year-old boy and two 12- year-old boys were last seen around 5 p.m. on saturday playing basketball

at a nearby church. one mother realized her son was missing when she came home from work at 11 p.m. on saturday. that's when she called police. authorities say the boys appeared to have accidentally drowned. one mother says she doesn't know why her stepson would go into the creek since he was terrified of water. >> i can't believe that because he's afraid of water. it's a tragedy. and they need to do something. they need to do something so this doesn't happen again so no other child has to drown or fall in a quicksand. it doesn't make any sense at all. >> reporter: the offices of the chief medical examiner of baltimore will conduct autopsies many but authorities say they don't believe foul play was factor. sherrie johnson, aby2 news. today we -- abc2 news. today we may learn the identity of the man shot to death on darlington drive sunday morning. police received a call of gunshots and found a man lying in the streetsch he was pronounced dead -- streets.

he was pronounced dead at the scene. we could learn more about arrangements for the death of ernest borgnine. he died at cedars-sinai medical center. he won the only arcas for playing love sick bucher in the movie marty he was best known for his recurring role on mchale's navy and was the voice of mermaid man on spunk sb bob square pants dead at the age of 95. a hair baret is blamed for a 7-year-old girl's brain injury and they are using this freak accident to help others and keep little girls safe. back in april of 2010, she was kicking a soccer ball when she fell backwards and hit her head. the ponytail holder she was wearing damaged her skull. >> the doctor said it was as if she had a rock and a knife in her head when she fell and the

a glass door and tried to on the register and couldn't do it and wacked away with 9 bags of potatoe chips. officers say they followed the trail of chips to hill and he had what bloody hand and foot when they took him into custody. frightening ordeal for a father. >> he made shocking discovery. one-year-old william was attacked by a 2 foot python. debon says around 11 monday night, he heard his son stirring and went in the bedroom to check on him. >>i felt it was slimy and i knew it was not normal. i immediately turned the light on and saw the snake and a python wrapped around his foot constricting it and trying to eat his foot. >> devon spuld the snake off with a blanket and william was taken to the hospital treated for minor injuries. the snake wail from the ajays ebbet-- snake came from the adjacent apartment and they have since moved. abc2 news to go is ahead. >> here's stories for you this

riskiest light. here's what's going on. marled's most powerful doppler radar showing the heavy bands and around baltimore city and this is going along 95 bel air seeing a good downpour. look at this cell just towards the west of the city limits. middle river essex and this cell is moving into ellicott city. dealing with a good downpour of rain between an inch and inch and a half that could reduce visibility but cause isolated flash flooding. easton is at 75. you notice everything is streaming from west to east. right along the cold front. that will shift towards the south. some breaks in the cloudcoverage otherwise showers and thunderstorms. lauren cook so, a lot of problems out there. >> reporter: yes, interstate 70 slammed with rain and a new accident to tell you about the

eastbound lanes. we are dealing with a disabled car along the southbound lanes of route 43. and even accident moved to the shoulder along the southbound lanes of 95 at o'donnell street. traveling in downtown baltimore no delays through the tunnels but a crash on fulton avenue at west pratt street. traveling the beltway traffic is pick up. this is at the west side at old court road. the outer loop is starting to slow down. that will continue all the way down towards interstate 70 and as we check in and look live at the beltway in overly at bel air road no significant delays. a 12 minute ride from 95 to 83. that's your abc2 timesaver traffic. now over to you. it's 6:46 and millions getting relief from the heat. more than 700,000 people across maryland in the dark but the relief has come at a high

price. >> 40 people have died nationwide because of the heat. it's been a big story for us but it'sing about big a big story -- it's been a big story around thecountry and for us. >> people are relieved by what they are finding but it's been a devastating nine days. >> reporter: finally relief from the heat but yes we have learned in maryland 13 people died because of the extreme heat. that's according to the maryland department of health and mental hygiene. most were seniors and the majority lived in baltimore city. 34 people died last year in maryland because of heat related causes. across the country, 2,000 record highs have been set since july 1st. at least 46 people have died nationwide because of the heat. and people in much of the country will get a slight break from the heat as temperatures drop a bit. now this comes after temperatures rose above 100 this weekend. recent massive storms brought down trees and power lines across the area and left

thousands of people without power. it's been a tough time for people with no power and soaring temperatures. >> i've been sweating missiles not bullets. it's been unbearable. >> when you sweat to death sometimes you get answeringry. >> reporter: -- angry. >> reporter: now health officialrecommend you drink plenty water or juice. avoid alcohol and caffeine and wear light colored clothing and check on seniors to make sure they are okay. sherrie johnson, abc2 news. today two of three fire companies that were slated to close by the mayor's budget now going through. >> linda so is standing by to tell us why one is going to stay open for now. right. >> reporter: right. the fire chief decided to keep truck 10 in west baltimore running for another 3 months. it will stay open at least until october. the president of the fire union hopes it will give city leaders more time to find a way to save truck 10 such as putting adds on fire -- ads on fire trucks

to save money. the the same can't be said for two other companies. truck 15 as of today in east baltimore and squad 11 on the city's south side will be shut down perm innocently. crews will be rea-- perm innocently. crews will be reassigned. jim clack says cutting the companies will prevent the rotating firehouse closures. all three fire companies were slated to close on july 1st but they were kept open to respond to the storms that hit the area last week. linda so, abc2 news. 6:49. and 40 people in laurel are looking for a new place this morning after fire early sunday morning in the tiger lily path air afterlaurel. part of the building collapsed -- area of laurel. part of the building collapsed. two firefighters suffered minor injuries including one overcome by heat. now to education news. public schools plan to release the school assessment results

perhaps 1 1/2 inches of rain. that's for the radar and middle river towards dundalk seeing pretty heavy rain at this hour. so certainly heavy rain in the forecast through the morning but watch that taper off during the mid-morning. 73 in town. dc at 75. easton at 75. and everything running along the cold frontal boundary that got hung up between baltimore and dc and that's why we are seeing this wave of moisture running along. but this front drops towards the south for the afternoon hours. and that will allow for cooler drier air mass to come into play. 68 up towards central pa. beyond that upper 50s. that's the cooler air mass heading into the afternoon. the searing heat towards the south. we have a dip in the jet stream and that's going to funnel in cool are air. maybe a little unsettled with the clash of the air masses that canadian air mass and heat down to the south. 87 the two degree guarantee. mostly cloudy skies and a shower or gusty thunderstorm possible but the best chance is towards the south.
